Majid Al Futtaim Finance LLC (“MAFF”, “NAJM”, ‘’We’’) has sold its consumer credit card business to Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD).
The following FAQs for Najm cardholders provide answers to key questions regarding the transfer of Najm’s credit card business to CBD.
How does the agreement between Najm and CBD impact my credit card?
Following completion of the sale, CBD is your new credit card provider. Your Najm Credit Card will be replaced by a new CBD credit card within 60 days following the date of transfer, May 02, 2021.
As part of this change you will receive enhanced cardholder benefits and a new CBD Credit Card so that you can restart earning rewards on your everyday spends. Annual Fees and interest charges on the CBD card will be at least equal or better than those on your existing Najm credit card.
Please refer to the email sent to your registered email ID from Najm on March 30, 2021 regarding the features and benefits of your new CBD credit card.

What are the benefits of becoming a CBD Customer?

The new CBD Credit Card will provide you with enhanced cardholder benefits including rewards on your everyday spends. All the Cards offered by CBD under the program are either free for life or can be free subject to a spend criteria being met on a yearly basis.
What happens to the benefits on my card?
Following the transition to CBD and the issue of your new card, you will have access to enhanced benefits under the CBD offering. For information on the CBD credit card features and benefits please refer to the email sent to your registered email id from Najm on March 30, 2021.
Will the Terms and Conditions of my credit card change after the transfer to CBD?
All transferring customers will have an interest and fees at least equivalent, or better than those currently on your NAJM credit card. Your credit card will become subject to the terms and conditions of the CBD credit cards. You can view these terms and conditions here
Will the interest rate, fees and charges of my credit card change after the transfer to CBD?
Following the transfer to CBD, all interest rates, fees and charges will be in line with, or lower than, those applied currently by Najm. For details about the interest rates, fees and changes on CBD credit cards please visit here.
Will my information be shared with CBD by Najm?
Yes, in order to ensure a smooth transition, “Know Your Client” information held by Najm relating to your credit card, including personal data, will be shared with CBD as part of the transition process.
Do I need to do anything as part of the transfer process?
We are working to make the transition as smooth and seamless as possible. If any action is required on your part, we will inform you well in advance. In a nut shell, CBD will issue a new Card for you and transfer balances from your new Card towards your Najm Credit Card outstanding to settle the same. You will receive the CBD card and can henceforth continue with repayments on your new CBD Credit Card.
Will I need a new credit card?
Yes, but not right away! Your credit card will be replaced by a card issued by CBD within next 60 days. For now, you can continue to use your existing credit card and either we or CBD will contact you when the new card will be issued.
I have an existing credit card with CBD. Will my Najm card still be replaced with a new CBD Card?
Yes, you will receive a new CBD card, as communicated to you, as a replacement of your current Najm credit card.
I wish to change my Card Type as part of the Migration, how can I do it?
Since the migration activity impacts the entire customer base, the choice of migration is currently restricted to the Card type communicated. However, once the Card has been issued by CBD, you can contact them for any changes at their end.
Will there be any change to monthly payment due date after my credit card is transferred to CBD?
Yes, the monthly payment date will change following the transfer of your credit card to CBD. Information with regards to statement and payment dates will be communicated by CBD as part of their welcome email as well as directed emails on statement generation date that will provide you with the amount that is needed to be paid as well as the due dates.
I have outstanding balance on my Najm credit card. Do I need to pay in full before the transfer to CBD?
Your Najm card outstanding balance will be transferred to your new CBD credit card on the date of transfer. You do not need to settle your Najm card outstanding before the transfer. However, you need to continue to pay on your Najm card as per the statements issued till the transfer date.
I have active EPP/ BT/LOP on my Najm credit card. Will that be transferred as well?
Yes, if you have any active installment plans (EPP/BT/LOP) as on the transfer date then the outstanding balance on such plans will also be transferred to CBD credit card at 0% interest with no processing fee. The tenure of the installment plan(s) transferred to CBD credit card will depend on the remaining tenure of your installment plan(s) with Najm credit card and will be based on following –

I have active Credit Shield insurance on my Najm credit card. What will happen to this policy?
If you have active Credit Shield on your Najm credit card then the policy will continue on your new CBD credit card with the enrollment rate being same as your Najm Credit Card for continuation of benefits.
I have active DDS on my Najm credit card. Do I need to apply and re-register DDS with CBD? How do I enroll for the same?
You need to register for new DDS with CBD, and you can visit any of CBD’s conveniently located branches to sign up for Direct Debit on your new CBD Credit Card.
How will I manage my credit card?
You can continue to manage your existing Najm credit card through NAJM Online, the call centre (600 57 6256) or interactive SMS service (3135). Once the transition to CBD is complete, CBD will contact you to explain the new process and platform.
What if I have changed my mobile number in the course of migration?
We recommend that you update your contact details to ensure you are in receipt of SMS and email communication from Najm as well as CBD.
Will there be any documents required for the migration?
In case of any documentation being required, CBD will reach out to you for the same prior to the issuance of the Credit Card at their end.
